Giving Tuesday has become a reminder for all of us to support the causes we love and the institutions that are important to us.
Before we ask you to support The Brick Clay Studio and Gallery, let us tell you about the challenges and highlights of the past year:
Despite the pandemic, our doors have been open since August of 2020 (supported by many volunteers). Our Board had to be very creative to adjust to the changing conditions and regulations for Covid19, and we are still trying to find new ways to keep our studio safe. Concerned about Covid19, we are keeping classes small and limit the number of potters per time slot. Despite the restrictions, The Brick has been the “happy place” for all of us!
Our Gallery is open for business to share our members’ work with the community. Our summer Clay Camp was a great success and The Brick was a part of three big local shows. We are very excited that we can offer more classes and workshops again to new and to experienced students. The fact that classes fill up quickly, tells us that The Brick is offering a service that the community wants and needs.
Teaching classes is our main source of income. Although our income stream is slowly coming back, we still have a considerable hole in our budget. Apart from the basic operating cost, our equipment needs to be renewed or updated, our teachers and wonderful interns need to be paid and our scholarship fund replenished.
The Brick Clay Studio and Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit art collective organization. Our goal is to offer a cooperative art education center and gallery dedicated to providing space for potters to work and share ideas.
If you value The Brick’s artists and their contribution to our community, we ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation at this time.
We thank you for your support and hope to see you in our Gallery Shop during the Holiday season.
With kind regards,
The Brick Clay Studio and Gallery
