Abstract Portrait in Clay

This workshop allows you to explore many different options for creating a portrait in clay. You will learn how to build with slabs of clay to create facial features from imaginary to realistic. The possibilities are endless. You will see a step by step instructional video that can be viewed at your convenience. After your portraits are complete, you can drop them off at The Brick Studio on the designated day, for bisque and glaze firings (clear glaze only). When the project is glazed, fired, and complete,  you will be able to pick up your pieces for further decorating, as shown in the video.

Make A Clay Creature Cellphone Amplifier 

Have fun and create a creature sculpture to amplify a cell phone. With your imagination and a little science, you will form your individual creature using pinch pot techniques and surface design. After your creatures are complete, you can drop them off at The Brick Studio on the designated day, for bisque and glaze firings (choice of glaze below). When the project is glazed, fired, and complete,  you will be able to pick up your pieces for further decorating of your choice.

Make A Beautiful Handbuilt Tray With Texture

Learn how to make a beautiful textured ceramic tray using everyday items found in your home and in nature. In this workshop you will gain a basic understanding of rolling out a slab, working with guide sticks, using clay tools and templates.

In this class, we will guide you through the basics of creating a handbuilt clay coffee mug. Surface texture techniques utilizing items around the house or yard such as lace, shells, and buttons, will also be explored so you can make your mug an individualized work of art.
